DeLonghi Magnifica: no water coming through

Hi everyone,

I got a DeLonghi Magnifica 2 months ago, used it for about 1 week, then emptied and cleaned the tray and left the machine for 6 weeks or so.

When I turn on the machine now, there is never any water coming through, neither upon start-up nor when I press a button. Instead, the water light starts blinking (the reservoir is full). According to the instructions, this indicates too fine a grind. I initially thought the grinder needs to be cleaned, but the machine does push ground coffee through into the tray whenever I press the button, and there is no water when I turn the machine on either, so it seems water-related to me.

Does anyone know what this could be? I thought I might need to descale the machine, but it seems like there is a separate light to indicate that, and since I only had the machine for 2 months and used it for only 1 week, that seems unlikely to me.

Thanks!

I have the same problem. The machine has been left for quite a long time. When I turned it on, no water came through. The water light starts blinking. I checked the flow meter and it was completely dry. Seems no water went through the flow meter. Anyone has any ideas? Thanks.

It could be an issue of the flowmeter. Sensor defective? Clogged? Connector twisted by 180°? Is it an ECAM or ESAM? For ECAM see this guide.
