How to get wings and eyes movement on this pull string toy from sankyo

I have a Sankyo bird toy that has a pull string mechanism. It is supposed to work like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yzi_vvtu...

While I fixed the music box I can't understand how to get the wings and eyes to move with the music. Any suggestion on how to fix it?

Or alternatively, a contact to Sankyo could be something :)

Here it is opened:

Hi Vasco,

It looks to me like the motion is driven by the gear on the side opposite the music box. My best guess is that the gear has slid over on its shaft to where it's not lined up with the gear on the music box. I'm betting if you get that gear lined up correctly it will work.

Hi Vasco

How did you manage to separate the two parts of the chick? I've tried a thousand times and I've never succeeded.

Hej Isaac,

there is a screw at the back that one needs to use a phillips screwdriver set (or similar screwdrivers for electronics). I just removed the screw and it all opened easily. There isn't anything holding it so you can just try to put something in between the sides to open it?

Also, when you manage to open it, could you please send the pictures on the inside to try to understand how the wings and eyes get their motion? :) Thank you!

@Vasco Castro

Thanks for your answer! Yes, I unscrewed the two screws on the back, but I can't open it. It's like glued together, like made one piece. I have injected oil with a syringe, but nothing.

Maybe you can send me photos of the edges of the piece to better see how it is assembled.

My problem is that the rope does not run. I think the mechanism would work, so hopefully I can open it.

Thank you very much!!

Hi, I got a second one to fix it and realized that the first one had a piece missing. So I used the orange one to transplant one piece to the red one and all is good now. As for opening, I just unscrewed with a precision screwdriver and it just opened.

I can’t open mine. Any help?

It seems as if the piece that was missing was to help move the eyes, maybe it was an earlier model as it doesn't look like a piece missing, just an alternative gear style. Could it had been replaced/fixed instead of swapped? You should also mark the question as answered since you were able to fix it.
