Storage space low for no reason
I recently got a Dell G15 5520 that's running Windows 11 with a Core i7-12700H 16 GB memory, and I use it for both gaming and research, because my old one was excruciatingly slow. I haven't had it for a month and the disk space is already low, even though last night I checked it, and it was 227 GB of 453 GB free. Now it's 56 GB of 453 GB free! I ran both defragment and disk cleanup, neither worked. Settings say temporary files are taking up 212 GB, installed apps 65 GB, and other 34 GB. But when I go into temporary files, it only shows 24 GB of stuff, including the downloads folder. I'm Starting to think it's an unfixable virus or something, because my antiviruses WOULD NOT detect anything (I have both McAfee LiveSafe and Malwarebytes Premium). Soon I'll just put all the stuff I care about on a hard drive and factory reset the thing. Please help soon! πππ

Hi @anchefixes,
What does it show if you delete the 24GB of temp data and then check?
Did you search for %temp% in the search box on the desktop to find the Temp folder?
Also check how much is kept stored for Windows Updates and see if you can delete some of them to create more space.

It then shows 12 MB of other temporary files. 129 MB is kept for windows update

PS: can you change that comment to an answer so I can accept it π
