A Bee failed backlight strips would be might first suspect. Since you were dealing with a bad hinge, it is possible that this is a wiring issue. Of course, you cannot rule out problems with the backlight driver or even a blown backlight fuse. WE would need to know the exact motherboard number for your laptop so that we could try to get you more information about the fuse, the connector etc. ******
@A Bee it's one of those depends. We'll have to see what you got going on there. It is possible that it does or it may be part of the rest of the wiring. It should become obvious/visible if you remove the bottom cover of your laptop and we can see what all of that looks like.
