Too many coloured pixels

Block Image

So my tv is having a issue from last 3 weeks it shows blank white screen then 5 times red blinking light..... I asked for service centre repair they mentioned stuff such as tv's panel needs to be replaced it happened due to voltage issues most probably and panal replacement costs will be 260$.... After that I googled many stuff surfed YouTube and found a temporary solution which was using a hair dryer to heat my tv and it did powered on every time I used a hair dryer plus there were comments saying it's a winter time issue and stuff and yeah once my tv was powered on it was being completely normal no issues no powering down in middle, lag, delay in command, display problems no issuess

.... After that one of uncle invited a technician at our place it opened the back of the tv and mentioned that he'll have to update some stuff from his laptop it will take a day for it to be repaired and some board is burned up it can go bye bye any time etc etc and after that when I placed my tv back on the wall it had so many coloured pixels in my tv before he opened my tv it was working well but now it's not I kept the tv on for a while nothing happened... Next day after 15 hours after this incident I used the hair dryer method to turn my tv on and it did turned as usual but again it had those pixels...

The reason i posted this thing is I want to know what exactly is wrong and can it be fixed by me?

Raspberry11 we need your help to help you. We need to know what exact make and model number your TV is. Then we need to know where you use the hair dryer to turn it on. We furthermore need to know if you checked all the input sources. Also, let us know which board the technician refers to. This looks like a bad main board. If you still have the back cover off, take some good pictures of all the boards. Post those with your QUESTION. Use this guide for that Adding images to an existing question

Update (12/04/2022)

The 5 blink error code can have quite a few different causes. Ranging from the T-con board to a bad panel and a few things in between. In your case, this maybe difficult, but you did not say if you ever see a normla screen, even just partial. If you have the original TV remote then try to see if this will work on your set:

1. In standby mode, press the following buttons on the Sony remote:

DISPLAY....5....VOL(-)....TV POWER

2. On the left side are the blink codes. On the right hand side is the error count.

3. Under 005, you'll see three listings... TCON, HFR, and P-ID (panel).

4. Let us know what errors your set shows.

If that does not work on your set, then you will have to remove the back of your TV and check the boards. Try to rule out/in the T-con board as faulty. Disconnect the LVDS cable to the T-CON board, the cable between the Main board and the T-CON board, and see if the error code will change. Let us know what the result is.

You could go ahead and repalce teh T-con board and then update the firmware which is needed for the Sony after replacement of the board.

Using a hair dryer means that one or more components may have cold solder or are otherwise damaged. Where do you warm up your TV matters for us to know. Eventually you will have to remove the TV from the wall mount to work on it....;-)

My tv model Bravia 2015 KDL43w800d

I used the hair dryer mainly on right and relatively less on left side behind the tv close to bottom ...

And the technician referred to the board in middle maybe it was t con board something

I'm sorry I would've posted pictures for sure but my tv is wall mount and I can't take it off by myself :(

And yes I checked all input sources unplugged replugged 3 times

And yes my tv still shows red light exactly like before and white screen for abit and after using hair dryer it does get powered up just that display is being a problem... Yes using a hair dryer for like 4-5 mins is a bit troublesome but having that pixilated screen is even more bugging please let me know what I can do

And actually I started using hair dryer after reading comments of this video https://youtu.be/33BX6xNLTKQ

Before technician visit my tv was exactly like this and after his visit it is exactly like this but with pixals now
