Unfortunately, we can't really tell you where to buy the piece you need because we don't know what's wrong with your phone. There are several things that can go wrong that would cause the screen to be blank, so without figuring out what the problem is, we'd just be advising you to throw money at it hoping we accidentally hit on the problem.

Off the top of my head, here are a few things that could cause the issue you're seeing.

• Broken LCD screen
• Damaged flex cable in the hinges
• Firmware issues
• Motherboard damage or defect
• Backlight failure

The first thing to try is to fix the firmware. That's usually done using a computer to download a firmware update and install it on your phone. You'll want to eliminate this as the source of the problem first, because it's usually free to do and you don't have to take anything apart for it.

After that you'll want to check to see if the backlight has gone out - you can do that by dimming the lights in the room and shining a flashlight up against the screen. If you can make out an image, that tells you that the LCD is still working but the light behind it that's supposed to light it up so you can see it has failed and needs to be replaced.

Of course, the thing about flip phones is that you have to have a flexible cable to carry the display signals from the motherboard under the keyboard to the LCD in the top half of the phone. The very nature of a flip phone ensures that the flex cable gets, well, flexed every time you open and close the phone, and no matter how well designed, eventually that cable fails. Without taking the phone apart and physically examining the cable, the best way to check it is to see if at any point in the process of opening and closing the phone you see an image, then that says the flex cable has worn out and needs to be replaced.

As you can guess, a broken LCD screen is exactly that; the part that actually generates the picture you see has broken and stopped working. If there's any obvious damage to the screen like cracks in the glass, that's a pretty good indicator, but LCD screens can get damaged in ways that aren't visible to the naked eye, so it's not definitive.

Finally there's always a chance that a chip or circuit on the phone's motherboard itself has failed; those cases require expert technical skills and equipment that are generally beyond the abilities of us home diy-ers.

A quick search turned up at least one web site that sells parts for your phone; unfortunately it appears the LCD for your phone is on backorder, but this is just one place; I'm sure there are many others.
