The March 2015 update of Apple's 13" MacBook Pro Retina Display, model A1502, features fifth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors and introduces the Force Touch trackpad.

MacBook not turning after trying to remove ssd

Computer has always been good, so i opened the back and tried to unscrew the ssd with no success as the screw is stripped.

anyways i tried to use some pliers to unscrew it, in the process i may have hit a bi that thing next to the ssd that seems a bit hit, though i'm not sure if it was because of that, it happened really quick.

So i gave up in trying to unscrew the stripped screw closed it all again tried to turn it on and is no longer doing it.

Doesn't turns on or makes a sound NOTHING just a black screen.

The charger light is green at first and then orange and it stays like that forever, it never seems to reach the full battery when it turns green.

I've been looking solutions online and i already disconnected and connected battery, the track pad. Did the smc reset and other stuff. Nothing works.

Any advice?

I am not sure from the picture, but it seems like some damage was in fact done to the component to the left of the screw. Slipping during a repair is not unusual. But it’s a bummer.

This particular component is part of the power delivery system for the CPU. So if it is damaged, it could definitely cause the issue you described.

Ohh... so theres nothing to do now?

@achoyjuan just as supplemetal information to the excellent answer provided by @flannelist, the damaged component is:

SiSA12DN N-Channel 30 V (D-S) MOSFET and is readily available at many places.

@oldturkey03 Thank you both, I guess i guess I'll leave it as dead, the hardest repair i've done is simply change the battery lol. Been looking for video tutorials on how to replace that component but it doesn't seem to be an easy task and it requires materials.

Thanks anyways :)

@achoyjuan there are plenty of people that have specialized in "boardlevel" repair. In this case I would think that anybody with some good experience in soldering can replace this part. Ask at your local electronics warehouse, college/trade school or even RC club and see if they have somebody they recommend. It is not a terribly complicated repair and the part is not very expensive. Would be shame to bin it just because of this.

@oldturkey03 Could it be that i damaged the SSD instead? because i quite remember that component looking like that already before doing this, and i'm not sure if i actually hit it.
