Spilled coffee, took laptop apart... bone dry. What now?

This morning I spilled coffee on my laptop (oh! the shame) it wasn't a whole cup I would say a couple of tablespoons. I immediately turned it off cleaned it up and flipped it keyboard down open on a bed of rice. I took off all the keys and saw coffee spots. I cleaned the area with a barely damp cotton swab. Moved on to take a look inside. Opened it up and the ribbon from the keyboard to the computer came undone. Checking inside I saw nothing just a little bit of dust. I noticed on the bottom side of the keyboard was this black plastic film. I assume that kept the coffee out?

Considering it was dry and free of any evidence of being wet, is it ok to turn on? The ribbon that snapped off the board had no damage and I put that back into place no problem.

What should I be on the look out for?

I would suggest waiting at least a full day or two before turning it on. I recently had a clients laptop that had spillage on keyboard and it took two days before it was working ok. It has been three weeks now and they haven't had any problems.

Good luck

Mactech is right, it wouldn't hurt to give it a day.

Look under the board, all the connectors, for moisture, clean the board and connectors the mean time don't turn it on.

Good Luck,
