Is a 7th/8th gen headphone jack compatible with the 9th gen iPad?

I have an iPad 9 Wi-Fi that may need a headphone jack replacement and need to know if a 7th/8th jack will work since I can't find any 9th gen jacks.

Hi Patrick,

I don't know the answer to your question, but how about this one?

Thank you for your help. The link provided shows a clear picture of what the part looks like. And after further research I notice now a ZIF socket for the ambiance light sensor on the cable. Making the 7th/8th gen cable incompatible.

@pat_boy2008, yeah, unfortunately Apple parts tend to be extremely specific to the particular model they're made for and it's rare to find parts that work for more than one.

I always buy my iPad parts from MobileSentrix.ca in Canada. Good company and fair prices. They also sell in the US. Check this link:

They have the black or white jack for the wifi model and the 4g version.
