Gas bubbling up through oil dip stick?

Golf cart sat for 4 years and my son got new battery and used golf cart for a month.

He just went to start it and the oil dip stick popped off and smelled of a lot of gas. It’s foaming and gas bubbling in top of oil dip stick?

any help appreciated

@gtreanor this "oil dip stick popped off and smelled of a lot of gas" sounds like a bad head gasket, blown rings or piston damage. Do a compression test or a leakdown test and let us know what you find out. It will also help if you can identify the engine and give us the year and model of the cart.
