Increasing storage capacity SE

Will increasing the storage capacity of 16GB iPhone SE 1st Gen to 32GB affect the performance or battery life in any negative way? Can it lead to unexpected shutdowns? I was planning to increase the storage to 32GB since 16Gb is too less for me.

Hello, Kunal.

While upgrading storage does not typically cause issues, in an iPhone it can definitely have unwanted consequences. Upgrading iPhone storage is a complex and lengthy procedure so it is not recommended especially for beginners.

What are some of those unwanted consequences? I was planning to get it done from an unauthorised service centre as Apple does not allow it.

If you want to do it why not go 128 gb?

@Kunal Jain Possibly breaking the device. Since this is an SE first generation I just recommend upgrading especially since it isn't supported anymore.

From the research I have done on this, on the SE it is not possible to change the storage capacity from what it originally was when it was manufactured.
