Hi @otakunoweeb

Try a power refresh in case it is a corrupted BIOS that is preventing the laptop from starting.

  • Disconnect the charger if connected and then remove the battery from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the laptop's Power On button for a full 30 seconds and then release it. (Doing this will cause the BIOS to revert back to its factory default settings, hopefully restoring any corrupted settings)
  • Reinsert the battery into the laptop, reconnect the charger and try turning the laptop on.

If still no good try a full power refresh.

  • Disconnect the charger if connected and then remove the battery from the laptop.
  • Open the laptop and disconnect the backup battery (aka CMOS battery, RTC battery) from the systemboard. Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop that will help you to do this. Go to p.73 to view the steps to disconnect the backup battery. When the battery is removed check its voltage to make sure that it is still OK. A weak backup battery may be the reason why the BIOS became corrupted. See p.37 of the manual for how to check it. If the battery voltage is<2.5V DC replace it. Search online for 02K7078 to find suppliers that suit you best.
  • If you can't test the backup battery voltage, leave it disconnected for about 5 minutes and then reconnect it to the systemboard.
  • Reassemble the laptop, reinsert the battery, reconnect the charger and check if it turns on.

If it turns on OK there might be a message saying that the date and time are incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset. Once the date and time have been adjusted, the message won't appear the next time the laptop is started. Also if any user defined BIOS settings have been changed by you to suit your particular operating requirements they will have to be changed again as they have been reset.
