Mac Pro 4.1 flashed to 5.1

Hi guys, (@mayer)

I am wondering if I flash MP 4.1 to 5.1 what other "modifications" are need to get "full MP 5.1" ?

Is software/hardware support same for flashed 4.1 and 5.1 or there are any differences ?

Can I modified CPU heatsink from 4.1 so I will be able to use normal CPU and no de-lidded ?

Can I use normal CPU (no de-lidded) in MP 4.1 if I use water cooling ?

Anyone have any experiences with MP water cooling ?

but he using "normal CPU" so are de-lidded CPU's only in MP 4.1 dual CPU ?

also can't read the spec on RAM's but I know that MP 5.1 support 1333MHz why he using 1066MHz ? (will MP 4.1 flashed to 5.1 support 1333MHz ?)

I remember that I has to use delided CPUs on the 2009 2.9 dual machines. I'm still using the 1066MHz RAM in both a 2009 & a 2010.

As a note, I used DodDudes method to upgrade to High Sierra and that PCIe SSD crashes about 3-4 times a day in both the 2009 & 2010 Mac Pros.

@mayer isn't 2010 officially supported by High Sierra or you have to do this because PCIe SSD (mean DodDudes) ?

Well this is why I am so confused about de-lidded CPU's but if I check price for 2x de-lidded X5690 and dual CPU try for 5.1 it's almost same price :D

and what about SW/HW differences /support ? is there any for 5.1 and 4.1 flashed to 5.1 ?

I did the DosDude upgrade on my 2009 2x 2.93. It was crashing, so moved the PCIe card with the SSD drive to the 2010 and it keeps crashing. Need to backup data, reformat drive and do the install on the 2010. BTW the 2009 processor board will not move to the 2010.
