You will need to get alcohol pads or a bottle of Isopropyl (Rubbing) alcohol and paper towels.

After your suggestion, I did try this again. It just becomes more and more sticky. It doesn't appear to work, even after persistent scrubbing. Tried the baking soda technique suggested elsewhere, to no avail. Also tried car plastic trim treatment. Someone suggested nail polish remover.Bit scared to use that, but this device is a gummy mess now...
I finally took off the rear cover, to safely work on the back. Vigorous rubbing with rubbing alcohol, hot water with soap , vinegar..and eventually using a guitar pick I scraped most of the sticky material off. I can't really do that to the front safely. Might spray on clear sealant (?)
Thank you for the advice. After trying all the methods, yours worked the best.
It took me about an hour, but managed to clean the front off without damage using a microfiber cloth, rubbing alcohol and a guitar pick.

If your !!%@$ player is sticky you should be more careful when ^$$&@@*$@*@.
