I have changed the prgbk tank on Canon 6350 printer and the printer says ink tank not recognised when switched on. Have tried 2 brand new tanks now, and still not recognised

Check if you don't have bent or missing pins where chip of tank connects to head unit or carrier (depending on model)

Thank you Tadas, but it gives the same "not recognised" message on both the brand new tanks I tried, and also when I replaced the old empty tank.
Yes because on your ink there is small ship. that chip connects to small legs on printer side. my guess that one of those pins in printer side is bent or broke
