Damaged prongs for home button. Will the iPad work?

The connector where the home button ribbon attaches is broken. Will the iPad work with no home button attached there and broken prongs? I have the assistive touch so I can use that. Just wondering if it will function other than that.

Hi,

An iPad (or iPhone) is able to start without having a home button connected, absolutely.
Note: I have seen reports (though never experienced it myself) that when it boots without the home button, the process can take quite a bit longer than normal.

Thank you unfortunately I messed with the display too much and tore the ribbon cable on it. So I learned some things but this iPad is done.
