1 My newly replaced battery has stopped working after two weeks
About two weeks ago I replaced my Mac's battery using the ifixit replacement battery and kit. It seemed to have worked as the laptop ran perfectly until last week, when it suddenly did not work unless plugged in. The battery sign had an x over it and stopped appearing in the menu bar completely. I reset the SMC but that did not work so I opened it up to see if anything had moved around but everything appeared to be in place and still secure, (see attached photo). Can anyone suggest what to do next?

@steve_g - Good point! I didn't look at the image,
Now I see a more troubling issue! The Trackpad logic board is corroded up! So that will need to be replaced,

@danj I had this problem as well. I ran the coconutBattery app and before it failed it showed the battery information. After it failed it shows no battery connected. All the status information was zeroed out. Both the initial and warranty replacement iFixit battery died this way.
It will force sleep if I unplug the power adapter and come back to the unlock screen when reattaching the power adapter.
It seems that the batteries power management circuity fails but the battery itself is still fine.
The second replacement battery seemed to die after I reset the SMC.

@kylemayer18897 - That's another possible cause for sure! But here we have liquid damage within the Trackpads logic board. Best to fix this and then re-assess things.
