If you are comfortable with opening your MBP and know how to do micro soldering then you can try to repair the backlight cable which can cause the issue if it breaks. The cable in the 2016 & 2017 models were too short and every time you open the screen the backlight & camera cable wears out. Since Apple realized in 2018 that they messed up, they quietly changed the length on the 2018+ models. This cable can not be removed from the screen, that's why it is such a pain to fix.
If you get the screen replaced, I am pretty sure they put in a display with a longer cable.
