How to open clasp holding video screen cable to board

The edge of the tool from ifixit seems too thick to release clasp holding video screen cable. How should I proceed?

Opening the iPod can be challenging. Do not get discouraged if it takes you a few tries before the iPod is opened.

I'll link it here because it gives some good inside for opening the device up on steps two and three, but you're going to start from the bottom. You'll need to release the first retainer from that end. You're also going to have to release the retainer on the top, and all four on both sides. You can use this image for reference.
