Water damage for 5 seconds

My little brother dropped the controller into our fish tank and The controller was in the water for like five seconds and now it won’t work. Is it a good idea to let it sit outside to dry or should I let it inside to dry? And can you give me any advice on how to fix the controller.

Don't use it.

Ideally, you want to open this up, because if you simply let this dry out, you'll usually get corrosion on components.

Clean the board with isopropyl, as this will remove any corrosion and dispell any moisture. Let that evaporate off and test.

If no good, test with another battery, and then check board for blown components if a new battery is no good.
