MacBook not entering internet recovery - 2100f

Hi

I have a Macbook Pro A1990 emc 3215 mid 2018 15" model. It has had its OS removed so I need to reinstall MacOS. No matter what keys I press it always boots to internet recovery (I've tried to do PRAM clear, CMD+R for recovery mode, Option key for boot options, D for diagnostics). When I enter my WIFI password it accepts it, starts loading into internet recovery but after around 30-60mins it fails showing error code 2100F. I have tried a power drain by disconnecting the battery and mais power but that has not changed anything. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?
Thanks

Is this a used system? I fear you have a iCloud locked system.

Yeah it is used, it could be locked but I have had locked ones before and I've never seen them behave like this

@christophe30013 Were you able to resolve this? I am also going through the same issue.? Any pointers are appreciated.

@bagomac

Yes managed to resolve the issue in the end. I have had a good 10- 20 more devices doing the same thing and this has worked on all of them. It seems to me that the T2 security chip has become corrupted somehow, possibly during an update. You can refresh the firmware from another mac using this guide though and after that it seems to perform as expected.

Hope this helps!

Time to visit an Apple Store to see if they can help you.

Hi

Have you tried installing macOS using another Mac onto an external hard drive then booting into it and installing with a installer from within the OS

That’s how I basically force a install on a stubborn computer

but if that doesn’t work I would do as @danj has said previously and take it to the apple store!

Hopefully this helps

Thanks:-)
