Why is the entire screen white?

The screen is white when it's turned on. Why could this be? Is it worth fixing, and if yes, could I do it myself? Many thanks in beforehand!

Like some laptops, you might get it going again by pulling the power from the wall, holding the power button in for 45 secs., then plugging it in and turning on again. It may take a few tries. If that doesn’t do it, it’s likely internal and requires a pro look at it. That’s an old monitor, so probs not worth the $.
