The March 2015 update of Apple's 13" MacBook Air features fifth generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, resulting in slightly increased performance and battery life.

Why is my replaced battery draining quickly and charging slowly?

I recently replaced my battery through ifixit. It seemed to be working fine the first discharge, but after i charged it again, it seemed to drain very quickly (quicker than my old crappy battery I replaced). It also seems to be charging slowly (I had it on the plug for about 3-4 hours and it only got to 80 percent). Is this normal for a new battery? I tried resetting the SMC and that didn’t seem to fix anything.

The process of replacing the battery was very straight forward and I will definetly be purchasing from this website again.

Let’s get a better view of things, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question

@danj Hi, Dan. Thank you for your reply. I have attached a screenshot of the main window to my original post.

@Christian P - Sorry did you drop it into the image toolbox and not plug it into your question (go into edit mode) or just create a new answer then when you save it (with some text as well) You'll be given a small menu select Update and then one more time to save!

@danj sorry, I hadn't put my cursor in the right spot. You should be able to see it now

@Christian P Good, now plug in the charger give it a good 4-5 minutes and take a second capture, also lets see the battery info in this capture too!

At this point I don’t seen any issues. Let try one more test here. Let your system charge up for a good 14 hours with no use (off or sleep mode). your battery should be fully charged at that point. Now disconnect the charger and let it sit in sleep mode for a good 8 hours (set a timer to remind you) now take one more snapshot of CoconutBattery, how far did it discharge?
