Force touch on replaced screen is unusually hard to press

I replaced my iphone 8 screen with one of the replacement screens from ifixit. Everything worked just fine on the screen. I have no issues with touch feedback, swiping, typing, etc. But I noticed that when I am in the messenger application (or any application that brings up the keyboard with a text cursor) I am no longer able to hard press it to move the cursor.

UPDATE: I can move it but I found out that I have to press unusually hard, and that doesn’t seem right-I only did it twice.

Should I return it and get a replacement screen?

Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity of the force touch? (Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch -> 3D Touch)

Without Apple’s calibration software, you can only hope to get a screen that fits your phone in a lucky draw.
