Is there anything I can do about a damaged RAM shot?

I upgraded my RAM but in doing so may have damaged the RAM slot. Now neither the new or previous RAM works. Do I have a paperweight now?

Update (11/09/2021)

A thin piece snapped off, it was where the draw box indicates. I was hoping it would not matter…but the old RAM doesn’t work now either. The piece was at the very bottom of the carriers, against the circuit board.

I don’t see any carrier damage that would hinder things. Can you post another image of the top picture without the outline. Did you break off some of the carrier as the lower part looks like its missing.

Looks fine to me too, did you get a little over zealous or someone jacked you and gave you the wrong RAM.

Check all the contacts in the slots in the RAM seats make sure they aren’t out of alignment or bent next you’ll want to check for any more cracks or breakage in the seats.

Now heres when you ask your self should i just send it to Apple for a repair or buy another one and swap SSD or HHD and be careful upgrading the RAM on that one. or do I have the talent to “mickey mouse” it?

Let me know.
