Can anyone confirm the type of this Samsung RAM?

Hello again,

I bought two ram sticks and I'd like to know how to read them to determine their specs.

They have a SODIMM size and here is the serial number on the chips : K4T1G084QQ-HCF7. There are 8 chips on each face so a total off 16 chips on a single stick.

I know that K means Samsung, then 1G probably means 1GB.

So what kind of sticks are they ?

Can somebody explain me how 16 modules of 1GB can make a 1GB, 2GB or 4GB sticks ? How is it calculated ?

Thanks

EDIT : Ok after some research I found out how it is calculated. So my module has eight 1GB chips on both side, both side represent 1GB so the module is a 1GB*2=2GB module.

Thanks for replying

Have you tried Google-ing the serial number? That is where I would start. Also, could you post a picture of the RAM?

After a quick Google search of the serial number it looks like those could be DDR2 1 GB RAM chips.

here's a link to a 44 page PDF document detailing that particular memory module.
