Phone is Unnecessarily Overheating
My phone keeps saying that its overheating tho it has not been in use. None of the apps will open due ti the overheat and when i try to charge it, it does not charge. Just the battery icon will flash and nothing happens. Please help me with this issue!

Does it actually feel hot? If not your temp sensor might be faulty.

@jayeff the reason I'm suspecting the temp sensor is because I had similar issues with a Motorola Turbo. Turns out when I replaced the battery, I accidentally damaged the ribbon cable to the temp sensor. I replaced it and it worked and charged fine after that.

Fair enough but the OP never mentioned a battery replacement but did mention that it wasn't charging

@jayeff that is very true. The symptoms are just familiar. Maybe the temp sensor is malfunctioning? Just something for OP to consider since it's acting like that. Would love for them to reply and tell us more, like if it is feeling warm or not.
