Poked a hole in the battery.

So recently I was taking apart my old iPhone 5s with a teardown guide and when I was taking the battery out I poked it on accident using the spudger and now I dare try to plug it in or pry it out anymore. Is it safe to throw away in a garbage bin? I don’t want anything more to do with this demon phone.

These batteries are not safe to throw away. Do a quick internet search for your area for centers that accept batteries for recycling. Every one i have seen will take them for free ( they sell to a recycling center).

Thanks I think I have one near me so I will go in a few minutes to throw it away. Thanks for the feedback.

Not a problem. Don't want to throw it in the trash as it could catch fire. They'll know how to safely deal with it.
