Is it possible to swap the TPM chip on a new board to unlock bitlocker

I have a Surface Pro 4 in my shop, the motherboard is bad due to damage from a swelling battery. The customer has Bitlocker on their drive that they are not sure of the recovery key. Would it work if I just put the TPM chip from the bad board onto a known working one? Or because of the encryption method Bitlocker uses is that not possible.
