Is there a way to change out the charging port?

I had dropped my X1 Carbon 2nd gen over 2 years ago now with the charging cable attached and as such the metal plate holding the charging port tightly had loosened and was hoping for an easy and compressive guide on how to replace it/fix it/ change it

Hi,

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.66 to view the necessay pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the systemboard.

Once you have removed the systemboard you can remove/replace the DC power jack (supplier example only) from the board. You will need soldering skills and tools to do the repair/replacement.

There are other suppliers online that may suit you better. Just search for Lenovo X1 Carbon 2nd Gen (20A7, 20A8) DC Power jack, to get results
