Samsung LE40B530 Backlight goes off after some time

Hello everyone,

this morning my old Samsung TV (LE40B530P7WXZG) just randomly went dark. After rebooting it several times including unplugging it the error still persists.

It boots normally and shows the usual image and sound but after a random delay of about 30-60s it will go dark yet still play sound.
I already shined a torch on it and it does still have an image, however it seems that the backlight is dead.

Even more confusing is the fact that it will function normally for some time before turning the backlight off.

Did anyone experience this and is it fixable for a reasonable price given the age of the device?

Thanks in advance!

@andrewsawesome Probably around 10 years already. Not 100% sure.

Can you open up the TV and check for leaky or bulged capacitors? I have attached a picture below for reference.
