Announced on October 16, 2014, the iPad Mini 3 is the successor to the iPad Mini Retina (now known as the iPad mini 2).

New digitizer not responding

Replacing a touch screen and lcd on an iPad mini 3. Swapped original home button and on power up I get the unable to activate touch ID and the digitizer is completely unresponsive… old cracked one worked. Now I have tried 3 different digitizer and still no response. Any ideas?

hello Jeremy,

You have to view again connection with a small interface. If You bought with, connection can be unsoldered. If without, that simply - check your soldering one more time. Sometimes, Chinese interfaces are just imitation. You can move your old interface into a new digitizer (I would do just that). That’s all about touch function. Home button - that pretty uncomplicated stuff: just two signals in one tape. Just check connection to the board (I assume you didn't break anything while disconnecting from the faulty digitizer).

OK what about if I don't care about the original home button working. I also don't have the original lcd anymore which was never explained in any tutorial I have watched... all.just showed plugging the new one in. Any suggestions ? And yes home button still functions just no finger print sensor. Literally just the digitizer not responding.
