PS3 hard drive clone for another PS3

I bought a ps3 from a person who sold it to me for almost nothing, one problem no hard drive. So i took it from him with the intent to fix(put in another hard drive) and sell it….

I bought a 500G hdd and formatted it to FAT32.

I do have another PS3 my personal one which i was hoping i could use to clone the hdd for the other…

What do I do next? And will this work?

If not What is the alternative?
