Hi,
Looking at the user manual it appears that the only way to charge it is via the home base. See p.2 (shown as 5/13 at top of manual document)
Here’s the Ifixit iRobot Roomba 655 Pet Series guide if you wish to check if the charge contact points on the vacuum are OK etc.
