Clean Washer Indicator Still on After 2 Cycles

I have run the clean washer cycle with tablets as indicated two times in a row and the indicator will not go off. Therefore, I can’t run a regular wash load. Is there a way to reset this?

Hi jayeff. I have model #WFW6620HW0. Thanks

Hi @kitcat,

What is the model number of the washer?

Try unplugging the washer for five minutes to allow it to reset.

Hi @kitcat ,

If the reset as described by @mayer didn’t work, try running the diagnostics for the machine as shown on p.3 Activating Service Diagnostic Mode of the washer’s Tech Sheet - W11417645 - Rev B to see if there are any diagnostic error codes been shown. Look in the tech sheet to find out what they mean and their most likely cause.

I don’t know but maybe also see checks 11A through 11C on p.21-23 as cleaning the machine may also have something to do with the dispensing of the detergents.

According to the sheet, the light flashes after 30 wash cycles as a reminder to clean the machine and if not cleaned i.e. a clean wash cycle not run, then the light will turn off after 3 more wash cycles and then come on again after another 30 wash cycles have been completed.

To me one way it knows about the number of cycles is to count how many times the dispensers have been activated when dispensing detergent etc. as counting the number of times the door may have been closed and opened or the machine stopped and started may not be as accurate. This is what I think and not what I know so it may be completely wrong ;-)

@jayeff - Thanks for this information. The problem here is that the clean light turns on (after “30” loads) and you can not run any regular load until you run the clean mode. And I ran it twice & it’s still not going out. I’ll see if I can find what I need in this tech sheet.
