Viewing files in SSD enclosure mid-2012 MBP

A novice’s query

I spilt some water on my 2012 MacBookPro’s keyboard.  Bought a OWC Envoy Pro External SSD Enclosure (Part #IF107-149-1) to enable me to view what could be recovered from the old SSD (removed for me at an Apple Store).

I seem to be able to view 11 recovered folders (and their associated sub-folders).  Is there any way that I can see information about the files in those folders? (I don’t mean “Get Info”)  can they be edited?

Must I use an administrator’s password for each and every change?  In short, how can I view what’s there as I used to in my aged MBP?  Or can I do so?
