Maximum sensor time has been exceeded

GE Speedcook microwave displays reads “Maximum sensor time has been exceeded”. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Hi @barbs_7858,

What is the model number of the microwave oven?

Tried that! Usually codes come up on the display if it’s an issue like that. No codes, just the phrase. It’s a GE, and can’t find the meaning to that message, must less how to fix it

I would start by cutting power to it for a few minutes to see if it will reset. It is probably referring to the steam sensor that determine cook level.

Update (05/28/2021)

maybe this will work
