Right button moves character left

I have an OCTOPUS Game & Watch that works fine except that lately, if I press LEFT once during the game, LEFT stops working and if I press RIGHT the character moves left for about 5-10 seconds and after RIGHT moves the character right again, the problem repeats itself. I did try to do a light cleaning with rubbing alcohol and although the buttons are more responsive, the problem didn’t go away. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it?

Fixed it! Mine had residue from the carbon pads on the membranes. I just scrubbed contacts with some isopropyl with a qtip as a last ditch effort after checking all the test points with a multimeter. What i thought wouldve been corrosion, really turned out to be carbon and rubber gummed up. It looked clean, but turns out it was dirty. Good luck brotha
