Is there any hope for my dead iPhone 5s?

Hello everyone! I have an iPhone 5s that’s been water damaged several months ago (4-5 months), I attempted to repair it, I got a new battery for it and it stayed as it was before, I got a new screen for it as well but still, it didn’t want to power up (even when plugged in), although if I plug in the phone and wait for 5 minutes it gets warm and if I put it for an increased period of time like 30mins. It get so hot but still wouldn’t boot, that’s the only sign of life that it’s been giving me, is there any hope for it? What do you guys recommend for me?

Unless you’re after the data on it, it’s not worth trying to fix. That excess heat is an indication of a short circuit and considering it got wet between 4-5 months ago that short caused board damage, which can be repairable, most of the micro soldering techs I know would only fix the device just enough to get the data and that’s it.

Yeah I just want to get it working for all of the family pictures I have on it, can isopropyl alcohol help in this situation?

Unlikely, first you need to unsolder heat shields to get to the components and then it's likely a component is faulty. If you could get the shield off, I'd say knock off the worst looking capacitor as that's usually the fault

@pomikoli Yeah it is a board level issue as there is a lot of corrosion on the components, after I get my hands on some isopropyl alcohol, I'm gonna give it a try

if youre getting excessive heat when charge\using the phone its a short on the board. going over the board with alcohol will only remove corrosion it wont fix a blown component. only way to get this fixed is to either learn how to micro solder or send it to a tech and explain that u just want the info of it.

good luck
