Best way would be to just use the phone until the battery dies

My problem is I took the battery out of the phone and would like to know how I can de-energize the battery. I drained all the power I could till phone died, but there may be some energy left.
@Niko Capriotti If the phone drained it as much as possible then it should be reasonably safe. Always be careful when handling batteries
