Toshiba Satellite M305D-S4829 CD/DVD Drive Replacement
Yes I know but just read it first. You don’t actually take the DVD out but the panel just gives you access to the CMOS battery terminals.
Remove the back panel by removing the three labeled screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver. Disconnect the CMOS battery to clear the BIOS. You will see it in the Step 4 photo just above the RAM modules. It has a two slot connector with a red and a black wire. Once disconnected press the power button for 15 seconds. Reconnect CMOS battery and put the back panel on. Don’t bother putting the main power battery back in - just connect power supply and press power button. Anything happen? Lights, beeps, fans, anything appear on screen, etc?
If that didn’t fix things then you could try this possible fix. Toshiba’s laptop business has been sold to Dynabook so good luck finding files.
