FaceID Trouble after screen replacement
I recently replaced the screen on my iPhone 11. I’ve replaced iPhone screens from iPhone 4 through 11 so I’m not new to this. I knew that there were issues with parts being paired to boards so knew their may be some trouble ahead. I purchased the screen on eBay. The seller said that True Tone works but I would get the “not genuine” message in settings.
I replaced the screen and all went well. Everything worked EXCEPT True Tone. I didn’t even get the message of not having a genuine display. The seller offered to take the screen back but I also ordered a Xr screen for my niece and didn’t want to deal with the back and forth. I went ahead and ordered a JC-V1 for both screens to regain True Tone.
I got the JC in today and went ahead and performed on my phone. Got True Tone back however, now FaceID doesn’t work. It pops up in Settings and I can start the process but every time it eventually says it isn’t available and try again later. It tells me to move the phone higher and reposition my face and eventually gives the message of try again later.
I don’t think I damaged any cable. Any input would be great.
