Does the iPod do lossless audio formats?
e.g. WAV or FLAC, preferably just uploading a simple file or similar

From what I have read the only lossless format iPod supports is apple’s own ALAC. There are free open source software audio converters that can transfer to ALAC format. One such is: KABUU
