The picture is very dark.

How do I lighten the screen?

pblr58  depends on how dark dark is. you of course checked your settings

  1. Swipe the status bar down to open the Settings drawer.
  2. Tap Brightness.
  3. Slide the brightness control to the right to increase brightness and to the left to decrease brightness.
  4. Auto brightness must be off.
  5. If that does not work then the issue is most likely the backlight inside your screen. You would have to replace the LCD display for hat. Worst case scenario would be a failed backlight circuitry on your main circuit board.

I, too, have this problem. I turned Alexa off and there was an immediate “fix”! Sadly, Fire wants you to have Alexa and it was turned back on. I am perplexed at how to fix it permanently!!

Same problem. Steaming doesn’t give the option to brighten picture. Only in HDMI inputs
