Repair information and guides for the iPhone 8 that was released on September 22, 2017. Model: A1863, A1905

Why is my screen black?

I recently dropped my iPhone 8, and as of right now, the screen is entirely black. However, the phone still rings when it is called (but nothing shows up on the black screen), still vibrates when plugged in, still powers on, still plays sound, and still gives feedback through the home button when it is pressed. Should I get a replacement screen? Or is it possible that more than just the screen is damaged? I am worried it may be more than just a screen issue as when I plugged it into my car, Apple Car Play didn’t work, and when I plugged it into my computer, it didn’t show up on there as a connected device. Thank you.

It is possible that you have damaged more than the screen from the drop since it is not recognised by your pc. You need to replace the screen and see if it brings back image. Than you can diagnose the other problem if it still persists.
