PTO engages automatically on a John Deere 135 riding lawnmower

2007 John Deere 135 riding lawnmower. Was going to buy this lawnmower but when the deck height is moved above 3 the pto automatically engages and when the height is moved below 3 it shuts off automatically. The PTO switch is not being touched.
