Why am I having issues after a firmware update?

I just got an firmware update from Dell support assist. I installed it and now my keyboard is missing keystrokes, the WiFi is not working even after troubleshooting. I have tried reinstalling drivers but the problem is still there.

Take out the CMOS battery (silver coin shaped metal disk) to the right of the memory modules.

This guide shows how to open that panel:

Dell Vostro 3458 Access Panel Replacement

Press the power on button to discharge any electricity.

Remove CMOS battery for 15 to 30 seconds.

Pop back in, close case, plug in power supply and boot up.

Fixed?
