No home button function but Touch ID works
Hello everyone. I have an iPhone 8 Plus that the Touch ID works but the home button function doesn’t. I assumed it was a damaged flex or component on the flex so I tried two other known working aftermarket buttons. Neither of those worked either but they work on any other phone. I also tried another display with all three buttons and it’s the exact same every time. Can someone please give some input on this? Thanks everyone

is the connector on the board for the Touch ID cable ok, Any bent pins?

I looked at it with a magnifying glass and I don’t see anything bent. She’s bringing her phone back soon for a new screen since she cracked her new one within three days so I’ll check it again. I haven’t restored it or tried the dfu mode yet but I’m doubting that would help. I might still try incase it is a software related bug. It wasn’t working when she brought the phone in the first time and it had never been repaired before so I don’t think it would be the pins but it’s definitely worth a second look.
Thanks for the reply

No. The Taptic Engine works for everything else. I don’t feel the simulated click but the home button doesn’t function at all except for the Touch ID
