Phone accidentally soaked with plenty of regular alcohol

You treat the problem as though the phone has been wet with water and the sooner the better.

Alcohol is no different to water (except distilled water - no impurities) in that it will conduct electricity.

It is no different when using 99.9%+ Isopropyl Alcohol. Cleaning with IPA should also only be done when all the power has been disconnected from the device. I think that it is better than others in that it leaves no conductive residues when it evaporates which other alcohols may do. Just my opinion on IPA.

Hopefully you can still save the phone, but it may be better to contact a reputable, professional mobile phone repair service experienced in liquid damage repair, and ask for a quote. They should have ultra sonic baths that may be able to clean the phone better than what can be done by the average DIY repair.

Disconnect or remove the battery if it hasn’t already be done to minimize any further problems. There is always power available on the systemboard even when the phone is switched off. The power button is not a power isolating button. It merely signals the CPU. When off, the phone is basically in an extremely low power state.
