Would a screen replacement solve my problem

After my iPhone XS Max was water damaged the screen is blank and won’t turn on but the phone still vibrates when I get calls or when I turn silent mode on and off, will a screen replacement solve the problem?

Update (04/29/2020)

My dad put the phone through running water

Update (04/29/2020)

I opened the phone and the back of the screen looks wrinkled

It’s hard to say without opening the phone up and examining it. When it comes to liquid damage you need to assess the whole device otherwise it’ll cause problems down the road. How badly did it get wet? Was it a spill from a beverage or did it go for a selfie trip in the pool?

I agree with the other person who answered the question. Open it up and unhook the battery. Take the screen off and remove the motherboard. See if it has any signs of contact with water. If it does heat up the black covers on the motherboard on the bottom and peel the cover back. It's a paper cover, see if water got into it. Don't try to take off of the metal covers. And don't get it to hot, just a enough heat to soften the glue. If it looks dry I would definitely try a screen. But if you don't want to go that deep into it I would just try a new screen on it. BUT BE CAREFUL, IF YOU DAMAGE THE CABLE TO THE EARPIECE ON THE SCREEN AND PROXIMITY SENSOR FACE ID WITH NOT WORK. So be very careful unhooking that plug and the cable is glued down and runs next to the battery. The earpiece speaker also lifts up to reveal the sensors underneath and it is glued down also. Use a plastic spugger to help to release this cable and a little heat. I would recommend you watch a video on how to do this.
